'Sex & The City' : A New Chapter

Yes, the girls are coming  back.

HBO's awarding winning show, Sex and the City (based on Candance Bushell's book of essays of the same name)  is set to return via HBO MAX, starting from a whole new new chapter; called And Just Like That.  Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davies and Cynthia Nixon reprise their roles as Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda, now in their 50s, and still close friends.

However the fourth member of the group, Samantha will not in the 10 episode revival, as Kim Cattrall announced she was not interested in reprising her role, one because  her long standing beef with Sarah Jessica Parker and second, wanting more diversity in the show. So there would either be a actress of colour recast as Samantha or play a new member of Carrie's clique. This revival is a better option to the Sex and the City movies that followed after the original series wrapped up after 6 seasons and several awards.  A short lived 2 season prequel, The Carrie Diaries ran from 2013 to 2014 on the CW and a third movie was rumoured to come out in 2017  but later got scrapped.

Michael Patrick King, who directed the  series and two movies takes the helm as the revival's Executive Producer, while the original series' creator, Darren Star will not be involved. According to reports, production begins in New York in the late spring.

I can't help but wonder, will Carrie still be married to  Mr Big  (Chris Noth)?
