Happy Birthday, Chinua Achebe

 

Happy posthumous birthday to Nigerian novelist, poet, critic  and lecturer, Professor Chinua Albert Achebe; born on the 16th of November, 1930. His first novel 'Things Fall Apart' broke new ground in African Literature and still remains the most studied and translated African novel. It was the first novel to be published under Heinemann's 'African Writers Series.' His other notable works include 'No Longer At Ease', 'Arrow of God', 'A Man of the People's, 'Anthills of the Savannah' and his collection of poetry, 'Beware Soul Brother.'
