Adieu, Mama Parton (1946-2026)

 

America's country music icon, actress, businesswoman and philanthropist Dolly Rebecca  Parton, passed away yesterday after a brief battle with cancer. She was 80 years old. 

During her 6-decade career, Parton earned several awards and advocated for Education and Literacy, as well as women's rights. She married businessman Carl Thomas Dean (1945-2025) at age 20 in 1966; they were together until his death last year.

Dolly Parton is survived by her younger siblings, nephews and nieces, and their children.
