Long Live The Queen! : Oma Osele Crowned Miss Continental 2026

Reel Illustrated joins millions of Nigerians in congratulating Iruomachukwu Oma Osele, who was crowned Miss Continental at the inaugural edition of the pageant, recently held in Ayutthaya, Thailand.

Oma Osele's additional honours at the pageant include: Queen of Africa, Best Physique, and Best National Costume.

Ms Osele has joined the ranks of other beauty queens in making history:

Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu (nee Onoh), who was crowned Miss Intercontinental in 1989, the first African to win the title; representing Abuja and winning The Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria in 1988.

Oluchi Onweagba-Orlandi, who won the inaugural Face of Africa competition in 1998.

Agbani Darego, MFR, who was crowned Miss World in 2001, the first black African to win the title.

While Mary Ngozi Bienoseh, who represented Nigeria in the Miss World pageant in 1987, didn't win the crown, she was among the final 5—the Continental Queens of Beauty— and emerged as Africa's 1st Queen of Beauty.

Long live the Queen!  Congratulations!!!
