Alec Baldwin Involved In Accidental Shooting

American actor Alec Baldwin fired a prop gun on the set of his new film, Rust, which he co-produced, seriously injuring the film's director, Joel Souza, but fatally wounding cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Hutchins was flown by helicopter to the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, but sadly died from her injuries. Souza, meanwhile, was taken by ambulance to Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Centre, Santa Fe, where he was treated for his injuries.  

So far, Baldwin has not been arrested, and no charges have been filed, but the incident is under investigation. Halyna Hutchins was 48 at the time of her death.

This sad incident mirrors the 1993 accidental fatal shooting of Brandon Lee (son of martial arts legend Bruce Lee), during the filming of  The Crow.
