The biopic follows the inspirational true story of Richard Williams, father and coach of Venus and Serena, who guided and trained them into becoming the tennis players to be reckoned with.
King Richard stars Will Smith as the titular character, Saniya Sidney as young Venus, Demi Singleton as young Serena, Aunjanue Ellis as their mother Oracene "Brandy" Price, Tony Goldwyn, Jon Bernthal and Dylan McDermott. Directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, it was first screened at the Telluride Film Festival on the 2nd of September, 2021 and will be released in theatres and HBO Max on the 19th of November, 2021.
