Robert Duvall (1931-2026)


Robert Duvall, one of the last surviving Golden Age Hollywood actors,  passed away yesterday at his Virginia farm. He was 95.


Duvall's acting career began in television, appearing in episodes of various shows including, Armstrong Circle Theatre, Alfred Hitchock Presents, The Mod Squad  & The Twilight Zone



He made his film debut as the  reclusive Boo Radley, in  the 1962 adaptation of Harper Lee's To Kill A Mockingbird. 

He went to to play even more  memorable roles; Tom Hagen,  the stragetic  consigliere  & adopted son of the Corleone family in The Godfather & The Godfather 2, Lt. Kilgore in Apocalypse Now, Mac Sledge in Tender Mercies (which earned him a Best Actor Oscar), Joseph Stalin in Stalin, Gus McCrae in the mini series Lonsome Dove & Judge Palmer in The Judge. Director, Producer & writer as well as an actor, Duvall earned several nominations and awards during his 7 decade  career; including a BAFTA, 2 Primetime Emmys and 4 Golden Globes.

"It was an honor to have worked with Robert Duvall. He was a born actor as they say, his connection with it, his understanding and his phenomenal gift will always be remembered. I will miss him.”

From Viola Davis, Duvall's Widows co-star:

Your name will be spoken.”


From Robert De Niro, who played young Vito Corleone in The Godfather Part 2:

"God bless Bobby. I hope i can live till I’m 95. May he Rest in Peace.”

Duvall is survived by his 4th wife, Luciana Pedraza.
