Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage and Joe Boy Win Big At AFRIMA 2019




This year's All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA 2019)  took place yesterday at the Eko Convention Centre, Lagos; a large gathering of music artistes from various part of the continent, with several nominees giving delightful live performances.


Nigeria was well represented as  Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Tu Baba and new comer Joe Boy bagged awards that evening; Burna Boy for Artiste of the year and Best Male Artiste in West Africa, Tiwa Savage winning Best Female Artist in West Africa. while Joe Boy won Best Artiste in African pop. 

Kenya’s Khaligraph Jones  won Best Male Artist in East Africa, while Nikita Kering  won Best Female Artiste in East Africa. Cameroon's Salatiel and Shan'L of Gabon won Best Male and female Artiste for the Central Region. 
For South Africa,  Sjava won Best Male Artist for Southern African region and Nadia Nakai,  the award for Best Female Artiste. South Africa's Nasty C took home the award for Best African Rapper. For the North African region, Morocco's Amiinux and Nada Azhari won in the Best Male  and Female Artiste. 

Veteran Nigerian artiste 2Baba (Tu Face)  and his  Congolese music counterpart, Awilo Longomba- who gave a live performance- both took home distinguished Legendary Award.
