Chris Pratt To Voice Garfield in Upcoming Animated Film

Jim Davis' iconic lazy cat who HATES Mondays but LOVES lasagna, will return via a new animated feature, not live-action this time.
The script was written by for Finding Nemo's David Reynolds being directed by Chicken Little's Mark Dindal; the two having previously collaborated on Disney's The Emperor's New Groove. Garfield debuted as a comic strip in 1978, about the michevious and manipulative tabby cat, his owner Jon Arbuckle and Jon's dog, Odie. It debuted in television via CBS in 1988 to 1994 as Garfield and Friends, The Garfield Show in 2009 on Cartoon Network and Garfield Originals in 2019; along with Primetime specials from 1982 to 1991.
Garfield: The Movie starred Bill Murray as the voice of Garfield in 2004, reprising his role in the 2006 sequel, Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties.
In the upcoming animated film, Chris Pratt (who previously did voice work in Onward and The Lego Movie) will now voice the titular cat, and Garfield creator Jim Davis, serves as executive producer with Bridget McMeel and Craig Sost.
