American film and television actor, Dean Stockwell, whose career spanned over 7 decades, has passed away. He was 85.

Known for his roles in 'Quantum Leap', 'Battlestar Galatica', 'Married to the Mob' and 'The Rainmaker', Stockwell began his career as a child actor, playing Nick and Nora Charles's son Nick Jr. in 1947's 'Song of the Thin Man' (the final installment of 'The Thin Man' series), Colin in the 1949 adaptation of 'The Secret Garden' and Kim in the 1950 adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's novel of the same name. Among his numerous film roles was Dr Yueh in the 1984 adaptation of Frank Herbert's 'Dune', Howard Hughes in 'Tucker: The Man and His Dream', the voice of the older Tim Drake in 'Batman Beyond: The Return of the Joker' and also featured in the 2004 remake of 'The Manchurian Candidate'. He starred both as a lead and guest star in several television shows and was a stauch environmentalist.
