Tito Jackson Passes On At 70
American musician and guitarist Toriano 'Tito' Jackson, the 3rd child of the Jackson family and the 2nd born son, passed away yesterday, September 15, from a heart attack at the age of 70.
Born in 1953 in Indiana, Tito Jackson was an original member of The Jackson 5 (later The Jacksons), which included his brothers, most notably Michael (MJ). He was renowned for his guitar skills, which gained recognition after The Jacksons moved from Motown to CBS in 1976. Tito and his brothers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 and reunited during MJ's 30th anniversary concert special in 2001.
In 2003, Tito began his solo career as a blues musician, performing in various clubs and releasing two studio albums. He is survived by his sons, his mother Katherine Jackson, sisters Rebbie, Janet, and La Toya; brothers Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon, and Randy; and nine grandchildren. Tito's children, Taj, Taryll, and T.J., are members of the R&B group, 3T.
