Russell Crowe Takes The Lead in 'The Pope's Exorcist'

 


Again on Russell Crowe, his upcoming horror film,  'The Pope's Exorcist' is based on the memoirs  of Father Gabriele Amorth (1925-2016), who he plays in the film. Amorth was a Catholic priest and Chief  exorcist of the Diocese of Rome who claimed to have performed tens of thousands of exorcisms during his lifetime. 

The film also stars Franco Nero as the Pope, Daniel Zovatto, Alex Esseo and Ralph Ineson as the voice of a demon. Directed by Julius Avery, it will hit American cinemas on the 14th of April.

Father Gabriele (Crowe) investigates a little boy's demonic possession and later discovers a century old conspiracy the Vatican desperately tries to keep hidden.
