Adam Sandler Confirms "Happy Gilmore 2"
Veteran actor, comedian, and producer Adam Sandler has announced that the sequel to his 1996 comedy, 'Happy Gilmore' , is on the works. Written by Sandler and Tim Herlihy and directed by Dennis Dugan (who also appeared in the film), it starred Sandler as the titular character, a short tempered hockey obsessed player who switches to pro golf to win money to save his beloved grandma's house from foreclosure.
The film also starred late football legend Carl Weathers as his coach, pre 'Modern Family' Julie Bowen as his love interest, Christopher McDonald as the memorable antagonist, Shooter McGavin and late Frances Bay as Grandma; with Ben Stiller in an early role as a villianous nursing home orderly, late veteran actor Richard Kiel as Mr Lawson a cameos by several real life pro golfers and 'The Price Is Right' late host, Bob Barker.
Sandler recently confirmed 'Happy Gilmore 2' in an interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon: " Happy Gilmore is Back, yeah yeah ... we're going to do Happy Gilmore, thank you", adding that shooting will be carried out in New Jersey and how he and his co-writer Tim Herlihy, have been working hard on the script.
