Sofia Vergara Takes On Dark Role
"Modern Family" alum Sofia Vergara's new role is a dark one as she will play Griselda Blanco, the Columbian drug lady of the Medellin cartel who pioneered the Miami- based cocaine drug trade and underworld during the 1980s and early 2000s. Regarded as one of the richest and most dangerous women in the world, Blanco was known for her nicknames "La Madrina (The Godmother)" and "the Black Widow". She was gunned down by an unknown assailant on the 3rd of Septmeber , 2012.
The upcoming six episode limited Netflix series "Griselda" was first announced in November 2021,and will cover the life and business dealings and eventual death of the infamous drug kingpin. Its release date is yet to be announced.
