Brendan Fraser Makes a Comeback Via "The Whale"

For Brendan Fraser ("George of the Jungle", "The Mummy"), his current film may be his comeback as a leading actor, as he recieved a  6 minute standing ovation for his performance in "The Whale" at the Venice Film Festival, which left the actor in tears. The years have not been favourable towards Fraser personal and career wise, hence a happy fresh start for him.

In "The Whale", Fraser is Charlie, an obese  man who seeks to reconcile with his estranged daugther, played by Sarah Sink ("Stranger Things"), after the death of his lover, whom he abandoned his family for. The psychological drama also stars English actress Samantha Morton as his ex wife and was directed by  Darren Aronofsky.
