TAKE ONE! : TADE OGIDAN BEGINS SHOOTING 'GOLD STATUE'
Back to work with a vengeance, ace filmmaker Tade Ogidan has begun shooting his new film,
Gold Statue; a collaboration between OGD Pictures, Solution Media and InfoTech.
Reel Sum Up...
Two friends, Wale and Chike go in search of a gold statue which is
believed to be an inherited deity. While trying to find the location of the
supposed statue, is located 'a series of unimaginable ordeals and put
themselves through some ridiculously painful situations.
Among the cast are actors and actresses who have appeared in Ogidan’s
previous films; Richard Mofe Damijo, Segun Arinze, Sola Sobowale, Francis
Onwuchie, Nobert Young and Remi Surutu. Also featuring; Gabriel Afolayan, Yvonne
Jegede, Kunle Remi, Judith Aude, comedian Ali Baba Akporobome and Tina Mba.
No offence, but the
plot sort of echoes that of Andy Amechie’s Oracle
and Kunle Afolayan’s 2009 film The Figurine. Some guys look for a sacred artefact.... haven’t we seen that
already? And what, pray tell, do Wale and Chike intend on doing with the Gold
Statue when it’s found?
Well, we just have to
be patient and wait for the finished product to hit the cinemas!
