Brandy to Reprise Cinderella Role
R&B singer, actress, and producer Brandy is set to reprise her role of Cinderella in the upcoming sequel to the Disney+ franchise, “Descendants”. Brandy Norwood is the first African American actress to play Cinderella in a live-action adaptation, the 1997 musical T.V film, “ Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella” an episode of “Wonderful World of Disney”; with the late Whitney Huston as Fairy Godmother, Victor Garber as the King, Whoopi Goldberg as the Queen and Paolo Montalban as Prince Christopher. The new installment, Descendants: Pocket Watch, centres on Cinderella’s daughter Red (Kylie Cantrall), and Chloe, (Malia Baker) daughter of the Queen of Hearts (Rita Ora) who navigate the balance of power between good and evil when they time travel via a magic pocket watch.
