OSCARS 2019: And the winners are...

With the high expectation of Bohemian Rhapsody or A Star is Born will win Best Picture, it turned out to be Green Book, with Mahershala Ali- who played the late pianist Don Shirley in the film- bagging an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, the film also winning Best Orginal Screenplay.

The Oscar for Best Actor went to Rami Malek, who portrayed Queen's late lead singer Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, while Best Actress went to Olivia Coleman in The Favourite, (very, very sorry Lady Gaga!).

A Star is Born however earned the Best Original Song Oscar, for the song,  Shallow. A pity, since Bradley Cooper really put in a great effort, considering it is his directorial debut.

The Best Supporting Actress Oscar went to Regina King (her first and well deserved)  for If Beale Street Could Talk,  Best Adapted Screenplay went to seasoned writer/director (and nitpicker) Spike Lee's BlacKkKlansman. As for Best Director, that went to Alfonso Cuaron, the film he directed- Roma- winning Best Foreign Film.

Bohemian Rhapsody also won Best Editing, Best Sound Editing, and Best Sound Mixing. Marvel's Black Panther won Best Costume Design, Best Production Design, and Best Orginal Score, while  Best Visual Effects went to the Neil Amstrong biopic, First Man.

Congratulations to the winners.
