Tunde Kelani's 'Ayinla' Premieres in Cinemas Today

Tunde Kelani's new film- Ayinla- brings to life the story of Apala musician ,  Ayinla Waheed Yusuf, publicly known as Ayinla Omowura, whose music was immensely popular within and outside Nigeria during the post colonial period until his untimely death in 1980. It stars Lateeef Adedimeji, Bimbo Manuel, Omowumi Dada, Kunle Afolayan, Adeoye Adewale a.k.a Elesho and comedian Debo Adebayo a.k.a Mr Macaroni. The film was shot in Abeokuta, (Ayinla's hometown), Ogun State. 

 A biography,  Ayinla Omowura: Life and Times of an Apala Legend, written by Festus Adebayo was released last year and is available for purchase on Okada Books. 

Directed  by Tunde Kelani and produced by Jadesola Osiberu, Ayinla  premieres in cinemas today. 

Another huge stamp for Nollywood.
