RIP Olivia Hussey (1951-2024)
British Argentine actress Olivia Hussey passed away yesterday, 27th December, at age 73, surrounded by her family.
Olivia's notable roles were Juliet in the 1968 film adaptation of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, the final girl Jess in 1974's Black Christmas & Mary in the 1977 mini series, Jesus of Nazareth, directed by Franco Zeffirelli, who previously directed Romeo & Juliet. Her other roles included Rebecca in the 1982 TV adaptation of Ivanhoe, Norma Bates in Psycho IV, and Audra Denbrough in the 1990 mini-series adaptation of Stephen King's It.
She's survived by her husband, David Glen Eisley, 3 children & a grandson.
Leonard Whiting, who played Romeo, left this touching message on her IG page:
"Olivia, we have shared so much since we were two sweet innocent children clinging onto each other for dear life, as every photo of us attests to. Rest now, my beautiful Juliet; no injustices can hurt you now. And the world will remember your beauty inside and out forever. Leonard."
