Professor J.P Clark Passes On

 Sad news from the literary world, renowned poet and playwright, Professor John Pepper Clark has passed away. According to reports, he passed away in the early hours of this morning. Professor Clark, who was the brother of Chief Edwin Clark, former Federal Commissioner of Information, was 85.

                                  


John Pepper Clark was known for his poems, notably Casualties, Abiku,  A Reed in the Tide and his plays which include Ozidi and The Raft. He obtained his B.A in English Language at the  University of Ibadan and served as a lecturer in University of Lagos until 1980. During his tenure, he was co-editor of Black Orpheus magazine.
