Very sad news for long time Sesame Street fans as one of the beloved show's veterans, Emilio Delgado has passed on. Delgado, who played Luis Rodriguez, handyman and operator of the 'Fix-it' Shop since 1971 was 81 at the time of his death from multiple myeloma. He was written off the show in 2016 along with fellow alums Bob McGrath (Bob) and Roscoe Orman (Gordon) but they returned for the Sesame Street 50th Anniversary T.V special in 2019 with past Muppets and cast members, which included Linda Bove (Linda) and Sonia Manzano (Maria, who played his eventual wife).
Known for his versatile acting, singing and promoting the speaking of Spanish in the show, Emilio Delgado will be sorely missed.
Thank you for the memories...rest in peace. 🌹
