Huge Wins at the 2023 Golden Globes Awards

 

Yesterday, the 2023 Golden Globe Awards, held at the Beverly Hilton, California and hosted by Jerrod Carmichael revealed several huge wins... and thankfully... none of the drama that ruined last year's Oscars. 

While every winner deserved their awards, the most  memorable wins were by Angela Bassett, Best Supporting Actress for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (which she dedicated to the late Chadwick Boseman who played the titular character in the previous film), veteran actress/martial artist Michelle Yeoh and former child actor, Ken Huy Quan( who afterwards thanked Speilberg for his first oppourtunity on the screen), bagged the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture- Musical or Comedy (Everything Everywhere All At Once)  respectively, "Everybody Hates Chris" alum Tyler James Williams winning  Best Supporting Actor in a T.V series- Musical or Comedy (Abbot Elementary), Zendaya winning Best Actress in a T.V series- Drama (Euphoria), Kevin Costner for Best Actor in a T.V series- Drama (Yellowstone) and ace director Steven Spielberg winning Best Director for "The Fabelmans". In addition, veteran actor and comedian  Eddie Murphy received the Cecil B. DeMille Award, while  writer, producer and director Ryan Murphy won the Carol Burnett Award.

7. Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture — Drama;  Cate Blanchett for "Tár"

8. Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy; Colin Farrell for "The Banshees of Inisherin"

9. Best Original Score — Justin Hurwitz for " Babylon"

10. Best Original Song — Motion Picture;  "Naatu Naatu" by M.M. Keeravani, Kala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj from RRR

Television

1. Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy; Abbott Elementary

2. Best Television Series – Drama ;  House of the Dragon

3. Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy; Quinta Brunson for "Abbott Elementary" 

4. Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy;  Jeremy Allen White for " The Bear"

5. Best Performance by a Supporting Actress in a Television Series;  Julia Garner for "Ozark"

6. Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television; The White Lotus
