"You People" Is A Tad Familiar
"You People", arriving on Netflix on the 27th has an ensemble cast; Jonah Hill, Lauren London, Mike Epps, Nia Long and veterans Eddie Murphy, David Duchovny, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Rhea Perlman.
The premise, two young people fall in love and decide to get married. The issue... Ezra (Jonah Hill) is white and Jewish and Amira (Lauren London) is African American, whose parents are members of the Black Nation of Islam.
This upcoming film, directed by Kenya Barris is a more than a tad familiar, as it is obviously inspired by the 1967 film, "Guess Who's Coming To Dinner", but with religion and cultural differences thrown in the mix. Any one wondering if this will end well? And who is tired of the current trend of past storylines? Please... 🙄
