'GAME OF THRONES', OTHER HBO SHOW EPISODES LEAKED VIA CYBER ATTACK
Bad news... upcoming
episodes and scripts from a handful of HBO’s T.V shows are showing up online
via hackers who managed to get past the company's systems. An upcoming episode
of Ballers and Room 104 have apparently been
put online already and written material from next week’s S7 E4
episode of Game of Thrones- “Spoils of War”.
“HBO recently
experienced a cyber incident, which resulted in the compromise of proprietary
information. We immediately began investigating the incident and are working with
law enforcement and outside cyber security firms. Data protection is a top
priority at HBO, and we take seriously our responsibility to protect the data
we hold,” the network confirmed in a statement.
According to E.W, the culprits claimed to
have obtained 1.5 terabytes of data from the company. So far, an upcoming
episode of Ballers and Room 104 have
apparently been put online. There is also written material that’s allegedly
from next week’s fourth episode of Game of Thrones. More is
promised to be “coming soon.”
For now, HBO isn’t commenting on what content
might have been stolen or confirming specific titles.
Huh... are hackers
that cheeky, deprived and heartless that they simply can’t wait for the actual air date? Freedom of information and all that... but this is really unacceptable!
