In Loving Memory: Ras Kimono

The tears and outpouring of grief by family, friends and colleagues of the late Nigerian Reggae icon, can only be imagined as Ras Kimono ( Augustine Oseloke Onwubuyo) was laid to rest at his hometown in Asaba last week, 26th of August. Ras Kimono passed away on the 10th of June 2018 at the age of 60. Nigerian artistes who joined Ras Kimono's family in saying farewell to him included Orits Wiliki, Daddy Showkey, Buchi, Yellow Man, Righteous Man, Alariwo,  Bright Chimezie and movie director/producer Opa Williams. 

Ras Kimono's music was greatly influenced by what he experienced growing up- poverty, inequality and hardship, and during his lifetime toured outside the country, winning several music awards.
