Dame Angela Lansbury Passes On
Irish British film, stage and T.V actress and singer Dame Angela Lansbury has died. According to reports, Lansbury peacefully passed away in her sleep at her home in Los Angeles yesterday, 11th of October, 2022. She was 96 years old.
Dame Lansbury began her decades' long acting career after moving to the Unites States; her film debut was as a maid in 1944 version of "Gaslight". She also found successful on Broadway and over the years won many awatds and accolades. Her memorable roles include Sibyl Vane in " The Picture of Dorian Gray" (1945), voicing the jolly Mrs Potts in "Beauty and The Beast"(1991), Miss Price in Disney's "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" (1971), Miss Marple in the 1980 adaptation of Agatha Christie's "The Mirror Crack'd", Jennifer Flecther in the long running detective series, "Murder, She Wrote" (1984-1996) which ran for 12 seasons (also serving as executive producer eventually), stern aunt Adelaide in Nanny Mcpheee (2005) and appearing as the balloon lady in "Mary Poppins Returns" (2018).
Dame Lansbury is survived by her son, daughter, stepson, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
