Gordon's Harrowing Tale Reenacted in "Emancipation"

 

 

Based on the harrowing tale of Gordon  "Emancipation" stars Will Smith as the slave who escaped from a Louisiana plantation after nearly flogged to death, narrowly dodging bounty hunters as he made  his way up the more enlightened North, where he then joined the Union Army; the story of his terrible experience at the hands of the overseer giving further rise to the abolitionist movement against slavery.

The upcoming epic also stars Ben Foster, Steven Ogg, Mustapha Shakir and Charmaine Bingwa and directed byAntoine Fuqua. It is set to be released in limited theatres on the 2nd of December and via Apple TV+ on the 9th of December, 2022.
