"Rust" Filming Halted Pending Police Investigation
Filming of Alec Baldwin's current film, Rust, has been temporarily halted, following a police investigation into the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on set. Alec Baldwin fired a prop gun, which he believed to contain blanks, killing Hutchins and injuring the film's director, Joel Souza. The date of resumption has not been publicly stated, but hasn't been ruled out either.
The production team have been in close contact with Halyna's family since the sad incident and announced they will be making a donation to the Halyna Hutchins Scholarship Fund.
Baldwin, who is currently cooperating with the police in the investigation, has reached out to Halyna's husband and son and expressed his heartbreak over her death via Twitter:
