Osun-Osogbo Festival 2024

Despite the current hard economy in the country, the Osun-Osogbo Festival took place this month at the Osun Osogbo grove. The week-long festival was attended by Osun worshippers, spectators and tourists, the 9th being its final day, surrounded by heavy security. 

The Osun-Osogbo Festival takes place every year in the month of August, where worshippers pay homage to the goddess, Osun, guardian of the Osun River. 

The Osun-Osogbo Groove,  where the festival's rites take place,  was dubbed a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005 and is held sacred by its worshippers.
